Reliable. Cost-effective.
Built for the BC Interior.
Asphalt is one of the most reliable and sustainable paving materials available in the Kamloops and Salmon Arm region. Its flexibility allows it to withstand temperature swings and heavy traffic without cracking, while its smooth, quiet surface provides superior driving comfort and safety.
Asphalt can be installed and repaired quickly, minimizing downtime for property owners and municipalities. It's also fully recyclable — making it an environmentally responsible choice that reduces waste and conserves natural resources.
Whether it's a private driveway or a major roadway, asphalt delivers the perfect balance of durability, performance, and value — and when installed correctly, it can serve reliably for decades.

Using calibrated modern paving equipment, our experienced crews place and shape each lift of asphalt to exact specifications — ensuring uniform thickness, smooth transitions, and tight joints.
Density and smoothness are critical to pavement longevity. Our operators use modern rollers and controlled compaction patterns to achieve optimal finish and durability. Every surface we pave is built to meet PSI's high standards — and yours.

Your asphalt paving questions, answered.
Direct answers on asphalt paving materials, process, timing, maintenance, and what to expect when working with PSI.
Asphalt is an engineered mixture of aggregate (stones and sand) with liquid asphalt cement, a petroleum product. Various sizes of aggregates are heated and mixed in exact proportions with asphalt cement liquefied at about 155°C. There are multiple mix designs and recommended thicknesses for every type of project — reach out to PSI to discuss the best solution for yours.
Asphalt delivers speed, durability, and ease of maintenance — offering a smooth, cost-effective alternative to concrete or pavers. It can be installed quickly, repaired easily, and recycled completely. And it's a major improvement over mud, weeds, and potholes.
When properly installed and maintained, asphalt can last 20 to 30 years or more. Its flexible structure performs well under traffic and weather stress, and regular sealing or repairs can greatly extend its service life. Asphalt is an excellent choice for properties in the Kamloops and Salmon Arm region.
Absolutely. If the underlying base is still solid, the surface layer can be milled and resurfaced to restore smoothness and strength — a faster, more cost-effective alternative to full reconstruction.
Asphalt paving is best completed in warm, dry weather, typically from late spring through early fall. These conditions allow for proper compaction and optimal durability, though small repairs can often be done outside the main season.
In many cases, yes. Asphalt is more flexible, cost-effective, and faster to install than concrete. It adapts well to freeze–thaw conditions, resists cracking, and can be easily repaired or resurfaced — ideal for driveways, parking lots, and roads in the BC Interior.
Yes. Asphalt is 100% recyclable and one of the most reused materials in the world. Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) can be incorporated into new mixes, reducing waste and conserving natural resources. Recycled asphalt also makes an excellent base material as a replacement for virgin gravel.
Most newly paved surfaces are ready for light traffic within 24 to 48 hours. We recommend giving new asphalt at least 3 days before allowing vehicle traffic. New asphalt is susceptible to marking and scuffing, so be mindful of sharp turns while stopped or moving slowly.
Routine maintenance keeps asphalt looking great and performing well. Sealcoat every 3–5 years, clean regularly, and repair cracks early to prevent water damage. With proper care, your surface will stay smooth and strong for decades.
Yes — we stand behind the quality of our work with a one-year workmanship warranty covering materials and installation. We're always available beyond that period for support, advice, or maintenance — our commitment to our clients doesn't end when the project does.
